Administrative set-up of the College

Motilal Nehru College (E) believes in achieving academic excellence and lays emphasis on holistic, integrated development of its students and faculty members. At the time of its inception, Motilal Nehru College (E), envisaged a primary objective of catering to the needs of higher education for the working population of society. At present, the college attracts not only students from the working section of society, but from all sections of society. The vision of the College is to promote equitable and affordable education to all irrespective of caste, class, gender and community. The College believes in disseminating value-based education and enabling young citizens to become agents of social change and the development of the nation. Motilal Nehru College (E) upholds a mission of inculcating a sense of responsibility in its students and facilitating their holistic growth through classroom education, sports and extra-curricular activities as well as experiential learning. It believes in instilling the qualities of leadership, skill and humanity in its students and teachers, to empower them to become key facilitators in the process of taking the nation forward.

Documents and Reports of Gender Champions Club

The Motilal Nehru College Evening aims to create a safe atmosphere for all genders as well as all community groups.  The College has its own network cum community of Gender Champions which has an objective of promoting gender equality and gender justice, envisaged under Article 15 of the Indian Constitution. Gender Champions have been functioning as responsible leaders in facilitating a healthy and equitable gender discourse in our college since 2015-16. ‘Gender Champions in educational institutions’ (renamed as Gender Champions Club now), function under guidelines jointly formulated by the ‘Ministry of Women and Child Development’ and ‘Ministry of Human Resource Development’, Government of India, to initiate a positive transformative process of shaping attitudes and social behavior at a young age. Nodal Teachers and the Gender Champions are appointed from time to time, under the guidelines provided by the UGC which are further circulated to its various constituent colleges by University of Delhi.

Motilal Nehru College (Evening) and Ramanujan college, University of Delhi jointly organized a Two-week online Faculty Development Program from 1st to 14th of September, 2020. The programme which was on ‘Learning Advanced E-Tools for MOOCs Development and Research’ was in collaboration with The Ministry of Human Resource Development under the ‘Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Training’ scheme.

The internal organizational structure of the College  is laid down as per the Rules, Regulations and Statutes of the University of Delhi. The organizational structure is envisaged into Academic and Administrative categories. The Governing Body is placed at the top of the management. The Governing Body is led by the selected Chairman with the designated Honorary Treasurer as the Curator of finances. The role of the Principal is to execute the decisions passed related to admissions, development, administration, finances, recruitment etc. The Staff Council is empowered to make policies related to the academic activities of the College and the Principal implements the decisions taken by the staff council. The decision-making practice is a democratic one, which advocates participative management and responsibility.

6.5.1

As per a decision of the IQAC, the College has introduced Counselling and Mentorship for students to help develop key talent through education and learning, and boosting engagement in teaching-learning processes for the best learning outcomes

The IQAC in its resolution dating back to 2016, envisioned to introduce a Computer Literacy Programme in the College (IQAC minutes 22-09-2016). The Computer Literacy Programme has been designed to benefit all the stakeholders involved in the mechanism of skill delivery and education dispensation.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has contributed significantly for institutionalizing the quality assurance strategies and processes. Periodic meetings of the IQAC are held and these reflect upon how to improve the academic atmosphere in the College. Various committees of the Staff Council work towards implementation of various decisions concerning the improvement of teaching, research, extracurricular activities and sports in the College and submit their reports to the IQAC.

Feedback Forms are developed to generate valuable feedback from our present students, ex-students and ex-students enrolled in higher educational institutions abroad. Digital tools like Google Forms have become really handy in reaching out to the feedback-generators to generate valuable feedback in a time-efficient and cost-efficient manner.
